Letdown For Yanks vs Lugo

The ever-popular "zig-zag" theory will be implemented by many bettors in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. It has some practical contextual value, considering both of Boston's playoff losses have come in Game 2s on its home floor and Dallas has won a pair of playoff Game 2s on the road after losing the opener. But with Luka Doncic didn't get much help in Game 1, and now he's playing through multiple ailments. Moreover, the Celtics cruised to a Game 1 blowout despite modest production from stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Expect Dallas to sick around a little longer but Boston to notch another double-figure win.

With the Celtics guarding Luka and Kyrie straight up without helping, those two guys know they need to put their foot down in creating their own offense. I trust them to at least keep this game close, if not win and tie the series up.

Kyrie Irving scored 12 points in Game 1 and with Luka hurting in Game 2, he knows he needs to put up a big number tonight. The Celtics are guarding the Mavericks straight up so without passing lanes opening up these guys are going to have to individually create. I think Kyrie gets it going from 3 tonight.

Boston has lost twice at home this postseason. Both of those losses have come in game two. The Mavericks dropped game one in the first round and semifinal series then came back to win both game twos on the road. Dallas is 3-0 SU and ATS in game two on the road. Worth a shot.

Boston dominated game one. The Mavericks shot 7-27 from beyond arc and could be in the running for some positive progression tonight. Dallas came out very flat and simply couldn’t match the intensity of the Celtics. They’ve been one of the best defensive teams this postseason and have shown they can make the adjustments. Dallas is an NBA-best 34-17 ATS as the road team this season.

If Tatum has any alpha male “Big (blank) energy” he will respond. Jason Kidd said unapologetically that “Jaylen is the Celtics best player”. Hey Tatum, what are you gonna do about it? Knowing this team Tatum will fill the stat sheet. I don’t think we will get a blowout…so I’m going over

The way I see it, the Yankees are the better team, more consistent, 45-21 and 21-10 at home for a plus-1720 profit margin. The Dodgers are so overinflated that even though they have a winning record at 41-25 they are minus-570 in profit margin. And that goes to the starters tonight with Tyler Glasnow overrated every time out against Luis Gil who just wins every time out. Gil gets the win, Yankees win.

The New York Yankees allowed ten or more runs for the first time all season on Saturday. I see a lot of red for both starters, representing greatness on Baseball Savant's statcast page. The Dodgers haven’t scored a run in Glasnow’s last five starts when he’s been on the mound. The Yankees don’t want to get swept at home. LA is 5-5 on Sunday, while the Bronx Bombers are 8-2. New York is 10-2 when Luis Gil starts a game and has allowed one earned run or less in seven straight starts. Play the Yankees at plus money!

The Minnesota Twins have been held without a run in the first two games against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sunday, they will face rookie Jared Jones of the Pirates who has one weakness in day games. In four day game starts he is 1-3 with a 4.18 ERA. Take the Twins to end their road trip on a positive note.

Expecting the A's to score a lot of runs is a bit like waiting for a blue moon, especially thus far in the weekend set vs. the Blue Jays when scoring just two runs across the Friday and Saturday games combined. Across their last 14 games, Mark Kotsay's troops have scored three or fewer on 12 occasions. Oakland often gets decent pitching to compensate, however, and Sunday starter Mitch Spence has been stretching out in his last two starts. Meanwhile this rubber match of the weekend set at the Coliseum looks a bullpen game for the Blue Jays, with Bowden Francis the effective opener, and the relievers looking sharp already this weekend. Who turned out the lights? We're talking about the Yankees offense, which is suddenly struggling to score much like the Rangers vs. Sergei Bobrovsky in Saturday's Game One of the Stanley Cup finals. After winning eight straight into this weekend, the Yanks have dropped the first two vs. their old nemesis Dodgers, scoring only three runs over 21 innings (extra innings Friday) in the process. Good news tonight is on the mound, however, as Luis Gil looks a serious Cy Young contender with his 8-1 mark and 1.82 ERA, and NY wins in his last seven starts.Meanwhile, the Dodger offense doesn't seem to be at its best for Tyler Glasnow, LA losing in four of his last five starts.
